Localized HTML5 FreeDream Wordpress theme + French translation

A very nice user of FreeDream, Taylor, had the very good idea to localize and translate my HTML5 Wordpress Theme.

He wanted to use it for a bilingual blog (using WPML) and needed to localize the theme. He created also a French translation files for (fr_FR.po/fr_FR.mo).

I'm very gratefull for his great work and he gave me the chance to share this with my users.

twitter question

thank you. i've recently downloaded this, and i love the theme.

and i have a quick question: i have added my twitter url, but the twitter image does not appear on my site. the space is there, the title pops up when you hover with your mouse, and the link works, but no image. can you help me figure out why that would be?

Check the images folder

Are you sure that the image is correctly uploaded to the images folder of the theme ?

thank you. sounds like an excellent start. just i've been looking through various parts of the template, and i don't know where the images folder is exactly.

i can see, though, that i'm indicating images/twitter.png as the image. is that correct?

The path to the image

Exactly !
You have to check with your FTP software that the image twitter.png is in this folder :
/wp-content/themes/freedream/images

Is any reason for not updating the theme available on wordpress site wih this version containing french translation ? Would be good for french user to have it by default

Hello Caroline !

J'utilise ton thème depuis deux jours avec grand plaisir ! Je n'ai fait que quelques petites retouches personnelles. On reconnaît là le travail d'une fille !! Le choix des couleurs est de très bon goût.

Which version to use?

Hello!

Excellent idea an French, HTML5, WordPres-3-aware theme. How could it be better (I'm French)?

Just a question, though: should I use
Freedream2010 1.1.1 (latest version to date), FreeDream 1.3 (French and localized) or a blend of both (Freedream2010 1.1.1 with FR localization from FreeDream 1.3)?

I just installed the theme on my newest, still-empty blog, http://etre-geek.fr/.

@David: I suppose you got the french version of WP 3.0+ and the Twenty Ten theme installed. Then Use the 2010 FreeDream Child-theme.

Get the full version, named FreeDream 2010,
http://wptema.xconsult.dk/freedream2010/
and copy/paste the french .mo/.po files from Twenty Ten theme to the language-folder in the FreeDream theme.
